My name is Michelle de la Guardia, it’s so nice to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a social worker, trauma therapist and the founder of Flagstone Mental Health.
I provide individual, family and group therapy for people who have experienced trauma. I use a wide range of proven approaches for trauma treatment.
I am passionate about mental health and social justice. The two can not be separate for me. I’ve been a social worker for almost a decade and have had a wide variety of jobs both at my bachelors and masters level, but I have always worked in mental health settings. I have had years of experience providing trauma therapy to children, teens, families and adults with positive treatment outcomes.
One of my core values is curiosity. People are very unique and I am committed to being a continuous learner around trauma treatment. I firmly believe, that when we think we know everything as therapists, that we when we stop growing and fail.
Why am I a trauma therapist?
I hold so much hope for individuals and families who have experienced trauma and their ability to heal. I feel confident in that hope, even if it is not me providing the therapy. There is a path forward for everyone who has experienced these types of hardships. I have personally seen the benefits of good quality therapy for people who have experienced trauma and I believe strongly in the power of individuals resilience.
